and i have been trying to get this photo challenge off the ground for SO long.

i figured while we are awaiting REAL spring, why not have some FUN!

Springing Forward...

i have to admit nothing gets me more excited for spring than cleaning...

i know it is so cliche
but it truly can be intoxicating!

can't you just picture

a cool breeze blowing through your windows,

music blaring (because who cleans in silence!?)

a lilac scented candle burning, your hair is a mess

and there you are in the middle of chaos...

that is piles, mainly of sweaters and boots

there's vacuuming, dusting and laundry

hopefully lots of donating and then there will that moment when you say

"i'm going to move the tv AND i should paint this wall blue!"

for me, this spring will be very needed.
the time change didn't hit me too hard
it's the weather i have been longing for most!

it has been a cold, snow filled and very emotional winter.

i am much looking forward to sunshine

and painting a wall and cleansing myself.

( i've already overhauled my closet / well, i started to!)

but what about you,
what can you do this spring?

take a crash course in refreshments?!
for our heart, mind & body, that is!
there's more then just the exterior,
time to take care of the interior too...

heart:
i recently saw a quote that really spoke to me...
"keep some room in your heart for the unimaginable"
be sure to treat yourself. be best to you and take care of you first.
when you put yourself first, you are a priority.
you will leave space and time for all other things to come and find you.

mind:

i love a good departure...

after being a little cooped up and weighed down
take some time to clock out of the chaos and clock into what makes you happy
it will be so soothing and rejuvenate you for the better days ahead.

body:
a cleanse is just as good for your closet as it is for your body!
with the warmer temps in the near future
you'll sure start to feel a bit free, carefree!
maintain your balance and start a system that works for you.
break up with the treadmill and head outside, drink more water then you do coffee.

and the Oscar goes too...

per usual the oscars were full on fabulous and LONG...

but even better than that was the pizza

i mean ellen, what isn't to love about her?!

ugh, she killed it and then some.

so tell me... did you watch? did you win?

as far as the red carpet glamour goes i scaled back a bit this year!

instead of loving hair over dress and thinking some jewels over powered a dress

i have to tell you, there is always one who knocks it out of the park

best hair, best jewels, best dress

simply the most stunning

and this year, i had TWO!

sandra bullock in alexander mcqueen

the side swept curls

the minimalism but bold needs of the jewels

leaving the dresses intricate ruching and draping to be the star

the navy on her couldn't have been any better especially since she is brunette

kate hudson in atelier versace

simply stunning with side swept curls

looking like old hollywood glamour and then some

the beading is so delicate - that cape adds such drama

unlike the other "paler" actresses this white didn't wash her out at all

gasp:

where are the ladies who won you asked me

well here's how they fell...

lupita n’yongo in prada

had the color of the carpet

however the dress was not my favorite.

cate blanchett in armani

looked amazing (right off the runway)

but the color muted her out too much for me.

her chopard jewels on the other hand!

i know you are probably very surprised i kept it shorter this year

i didn't have much fashion to HATE!

Babbles & Dabbles

My personal life has been rather rocky and turbulent as of late.
I've had days of greatness and days of great sadness. Still in transition and learning how to cope... Not only with grief but with disappointment, confusion and all the emotions that come along. What I am learning most of all (I should say what I have adopted) is to take each moment and day at a time.

Many people will tell you what they have been through don't turn them away... Keep their kind words as memos or reminders. Many people will think it's ok and you will snap right back into place... Just so you can move forward and keep up the pace... Don't shy them away, speak your heart. Let them know you aren't ready. It's ok to dabble though.

Right now... I'm dabbling. I try, then get I get discouraged and I am ok with that.
I know I am trying. And putting my best foot forward is better then not even having you're feet on the floor.

So what are my plans... I plan to watch Scandal tonight and ohh and ahh, getting back into those feel good moments. Normally that comes with cleaning and how refreshing that can be! Then making more rounds and taking my time when I need to.

I plan on picking up the pace here at Secrets... I've been eager to do a photo challenge and a giveaway - that will be my jolt into Spring! I'm excited for spring... I need some color, the snow to melt, I would adore to shop for some spring gear!

And during all of this, I will write, I will try and I will keep my feet on the floor
even if I'm taking steps in all different directions.
