All the buzz is about... The Blushery!

It was a beautiful, breezy & sunny Saturday afternoon...

While I usually have lists upon lists that I am set to tackle

this particular Saturday I was free as a bird.

Which was a perfect coincidence because it also happened to be the same day

  The Blushery was officially open!

I have known Stephanie (the owner) for many  years 

and you may remember her from when I posted about her during the holidays! 

She has opened up a new location in Beacon NY

and I am still swooning over every little decorative detail, let alone the fantastic services!

The Blushery is all parts fabulous, chic & of course indulgent!

Stephanie is still offering a menu of skincare and spa services...

Alongside a brow bar, mani & pedi services and makeup application

for any of your special occasions!

You certainly cannot deny how great this space is - by photo alone!

So what are you waiting for?

Make a day of it and treat yourself to something lovely...

Cheers to the Mommas

when we were younger honoring our mothers

 was personalized, handmade, unique & simplistic...

we would make her breakfast in bed

bookmarks, handmade cards adorned with little poems,

maybe some macaroni jewelry covered in glitter,

portraits of you and her together

just because we are much older now let's not forget

to love, honor & celebrate her in the way we did so many moons ago

so here's a cheers to the amazing ladies in our lives

Scrubbin' - DIY Edition

We pass so many pins of scrubs on pinterest all the time!

Many have ingredients we not be familiar with,

 many have ingredients we can't simply find in Walgreens, Target or the beauty supply.

And that's all well and dandy when you don't need to make it in a pinch.

And, when you want to keep costs down because you have so many to give!

So when I knew I was going to make a new scrub,

 the items had to be your average and accessible

You bet I succeeded!

i doubled my "recipe" after a test batch just to be sure because i was making so many!

Here are the 3 "Ingredients" you will need...

i decided last minute i was going to make these at about 9:45pm

you will notice i added, bath salts! 

i wanted an extra boost of lavender

i made 15 of these, 

keep in mind if you plan to use mason jars or something larger

i have PLENTY of product left, honestly didn't even make a dent!

you can give the scrubs by themselves 

but you can always add in a sponge or a scrubbing brush

i found these at christmas tree shop!

because i'm going to be giving them as a gift i grabbed little sachets 

and a cute ribbon just to dress it up and make it pretty!

the most expensive thing i bought was the johnsons baby wash 

which was $4.99 @ Harmon Beauty Supply

however my grand total for all the supplies, including ribbon and sachets...

5 on friday...

And while I do some process of elimination/watch my symptoms

I always deliver you an easy DIY because 

I know we all don't have time and I know we all don't want to over do it and ruin it!

4) Maybe it comes naturally for me to swoon after accessories first, 

because it's in my DNA makeup?

Every time I go shopping I look for the extras, the statement pieces before the ensemble! 

I've never met a shoe, a bag or a piece of jewelry I didn't like! 

I currently LOVE everything in OLD NAVY right now...

ALL the Totes, Sandals & ALL the jewelry!

*Sadly, you have to head in store to buy any of the jewelry but it'll be worth the trip

the store is having a major sale this weekend with items up to 40% off!

5) It is going to be a gorgeous weekend here in NY 

So, throw on a little tanning lotion/ sun screen... 

Head out around your town or explore a new town

Go for a bike ride or a run

Eat anywhere that has a patio and maybe even a view!

Admire all the spring that is blooming

AND 

DO ALL THOSE THINGS WITH YOUR MOMMA <3

i adore birthdays, truly celebrations of any kind...

everyone always says how awesome it must be to have cinco de mayo

 for my birthday, and i agree it has it's indulgences ;-)

but this year....

cinco de mayo was on taco tuesday

so gluttony was even more on the menu

to describe it to you i'll just say it was, simply sublime!

i chose not to head to one of the MANY mexican eateries in town 

(especially since i had a night on the town on saturday with everyone)

i kept it casual at home with the fam & the mr. which was just perfect  

relaxed on the deck and soaked in the sun

alongside some delish margaritas 

dinner and of course birthday cake

 to it's most glamourous & adventurous red carpet last night!

 i say this was one for the books

with late arrivals and stunts galore

 mainly the attendees do turn it up a notch past their safety net

however i think what people tend to forget when it comes to the MET BALL

 is that it is a costume ball! 

while there were tons of gorgeous gowns 

oozing with trends of cut outs, sheer, feathers, beading & sequins 

very few kept to the theme  - china, through the looking glass

they were subtle asian inspired details

some bursting at the seams, some wearing pieces by famed asian designers
