Glued to the Tube!

this week is certainly going much better than last, in more ways than one!
(as you saw from my previous post)
but what has me entirely too excited are the return of the best shows!
i have my little list of shows, new and old ready to go

as for the new ones i'm ready to check out:

ABC

With Revenge gone and my constant missing of the ever so handsome Daniel Grayson
I'm hoping that a little Nate Archibald (oops, Chase Crawford) can cure the blues!
Blood & Oil on 9/27

CBS

Surprisingly has me really interested in 3 shows!
Scheduled throughout the fall here's what I'm looking forward too...

Who doesn't love a good medical drama? And Marcia Gay Harden is EVERYTHING!
Code Black on 9/30

Jane Lynch is hilarious and who remembers Maggie Lawson from MODEL BEHAVIOR?!

I love a good family sitcom, I think this will bring a few good laughs! Hope it lasts!

FOX

I adore John Stamos & Rob Lowe so these were a given!
Can't guarantee I will be front and center at the TV
but the DVR will record it and I will catch up with it sporadically!
Grandfathered &  The Grinder on 9/29 starting at 8PM

Now, as for the OGs & the holiest night of the week...
T.G.I.T.
the goblets are in the dishwasher and the wine waiting to be poured
as i get ready to be re-acquainted with oliva and annalise tonight
and yes, we are on a first name basis ;-)

here is the full schedule from TV GUIDE!
what are you most excited to watch this season?!

Getting Balanced...

while i may have
started there     yet      ended here

it was the in between that i am grateful for

let me explain, i am a notorious planner.

i live for my lists and my lists have lists.
i have folders for clients and personal projects
color coded, alphabetized, you name it.
i use multiple planners.

i am okay with this.
it makes me happy and makes my world go round.
keeps me on top of everything.
it is truly, all i know.

but you know what they say, we make plans and god laughs.
the hospital it can be overwhelming place, never mind when your parent is in it!

it was not an emergency which i am grateful for, but still an issue that had to be handled.
therefore, it was a tough week and when you aren't close by it can stress you out more.

being that i am such a focused person and with a need to be in control
this "event" put some things into perspective for me
the scramble for time, moving things and being on top of things...
ALL the things, i perfect and juggle on a regular basis
seemed to consume me more than i wish they had.
and i simply, need to chill the hell out.

so i will do just that, gotta get back to my center
and i have a nice road ahead of me to make it pretty and perfected
but this time with just a few new ingredients!

like i mentioned in today's feel good monday post,
the two best ingredients to carry through our days and in our lives
are hustle and heart
i am going to keep focusing on my plans,
manage my struggle between the two
but really practice the BALANCE and the WEIGHT of it all!

something so simple to keep in mind <3

how i ended my summer

Labor Day Weekend is one of my favorites and I am lucky to spend it
on a private beach with my favorite faces & tons of laughs every year!
(What could be better than that!?)

Sure, I live for the smell of Australian Gold and the hottest/ breeziest day on the beach
but I am a true blue Autumn in New York kinda gal!

One last sunset on the beach and I was ready to get back home and start September.

So we can give a big kiss goodbye to summer and can say a big hello to fall!

I say it every year (so don't get too tired of hearing it please) I love the new beginning.
It's crisp, it's routine and it's always filled with yummy treats!

It ended so perfectly with the ride home, looked up and saw just the peaking through of fall.
It's bound to be a great season with so much to look forward too!

Stay tuned, there is SO much more you will FALL for <3

September 3, 2015

here's what...

i remember when this was controversy...
literally BEYOND insanity controversy and chaos

and then i saw this
and not a word was spoken...

oh how times have changed!

i didn't personally live tweet the VMAs and i didn't for Secrets either.
i'm still not going to say anything much other than this:

it ain't like it used to be!

for starters
i raced the hell home everyday after school to watch TRL with carson daly
and now, i start my day with carson daly on the TODAY SHOW

~

i grew up watching MTV.
because MUSIC was everything.
i lived for britney spears (still do) and the boy bands (duh)
i had posters all over my walls, i made sure i bought all the magazines.
i watched music videos and performances religiously to learn the choreography.
i taped every single special. i bought every CD, even the imports
(thank you virgin megastore/dad)

~

the VMAs were how i ended every summer and started every school year
it was so iconic and almost always in new york
the performances were so major, the collaborations and duets!
the fashion was always daring with leather and feathers
(no one ever wore this stuff on TRL)
stayed up waaaay past midnight in the hopes that MTV NEWs
(yes that was a thing - kurt loder, google him)
would show stuff from BTS or any glimpses from after party coverage
because it was my favorite thing in the world!

and my dad, god he is the man for this STILL!
he would take off of work to "watch and make sure we were safe"
as myself and a few friends and cousins stood outside radio city
(in the pouring rain, in the blistering heat and in uncomfortable shoes)
watching the red carpet, screaming every time a blacked out black town car rolled up, hearing the rehearsals from the side entrance, watching the vjs get mic'd
and taking pictures with them like they were the goddamn president
meeting access hollywood anchors & other major press
USING a disposable camera, like 10 of them!

it was a big deal for my teenage self
and i miss it, a ton!

any great memories from your VMA past?!
share it with me! :-P
