it is here! and it is going to be big, BUT will it be healthy?!
today is an awesome gathering day however
many of us will find it hard to maintain our diets and lifestyle changes
with all the rounds of food that'll be served!
i say enjoy your time with friends and family and root for your team!
now, we can run for the next two weeks to work off what we eat today
OR we can allow just a little cheat
with a delish mix of moderation!
here's my proposal and ideal menu for you
( ps. i hear you all grunting at me already!)
sober sunday:
yes i said it, SOBER. stay away from soda and beer
bring, drink, pour, pop whatever you may but seltzer is the way!
you really can't go wrong it! avoid all the additional sugar/carbs and have some seltzer.
change ups:
skip the cream based dips and opt for replacing it with greek yogurt!
better yet, go get the hummus! serve it with fresh veggies!
see ya french onion, hello SALSA! pair it up with a blue corn tortilla chip!
go baked NOT fried!
avoid the sliders with beef, try veggie sliders!
(add a balsamic dressing for some spice)
hostesses: help your guests, smaller plates, fit smaller amounts of food!
dessert:
brownies, cookies and cakes oh my!
while the craving will be there i say, save your sweet tooth - go for a fruit salad!
yes many fruits contain a lot of sugar but pick wisely and eat moderatley.
you will feel better about eating it too!
whatever you like
&
however you celebrate....
just remember... go NINERSSSSSS!
